this one time, we had hackers attacking us. my #CTO came to me, "Bilal, we need to stop them, find their IP addresses, and put them in a black list". the hackers were doing 100k registrations on our #socialnetworks platform. I worked on the algorithm. I created a JMS server. Every time, a hacker attacks, I would log their IP address. Then I would send a message out, notifying everyone the hacker IP address. All the servers, would then have access to the hacker IP address. But it was too obvious. The hackers knew we were playing with them. We would change our captcha page, website homepage, the hackers would write scrappers, that can pull all data from your webpage, 100k registrations again. They would change their ip addresses. So we decided to give them an alternative reality. If we find you are a hacker, we take you to a scenic route. Pretty pictures on the website, but everything is fake. The hackers disappeared.
